Abstract: The kinetic inductance of superconducting devices is now
recognized as an additional resource for fabricating compact,
nonlinear and quantum microwave circuits. I will introduce our
method to measure subtle nonlinearity in coupled devices via a pump-
probe spectroscopy. The results include precise measurement of both
two level defect losses and the kinetic inductance over 8 orders of
magnitude in drive power. I will also present our traveling wave
amplifier with novel impedance and nonlinear wave-mixing properties.
The 4-wave mixing process in this device can be used as a novel
source of traveling quantum microwave photons, or as an
amplification of a quantum measurement.
