Title: Ultrafast laser for precision metrology 

Abstract: 
In this talk, I will present the generation of ultrafast laser and the application  
in precision metrology. I will mainly focus on ultrafast fiber lasers and optical  
frequency comb related precision metrology.  
Three main mechanisms to passively mode-locked fiber laser will be introduced, i.e.  
real absorber, nonlinear polarization evolution/rotation and nonlinear  
optical/amplification loop mirror. Experimental realization of these ultrafast fiber  
lasers will be demonstrated.  
Applications in precision metrology like optical frequency measurement, optical  
clock, absolute distance measurement and multi-heterodyne spectroscopy will be  
discussed in this talk.
