Improving Coherence Time of Superconducting Qubits

 Yen-Hsiang Lin

Quantum superconducting circuits based on Josephson tunnel junctions have emerged as a leading platform in quantum information science. However, a key challenge in advancing quantum technology using superconducting qubits is improving their coherence time, as these qubits are highly sensitive to environmental interactions. In this talk, I will present several recent research strategies aimed at enhancing the coherence time of superconducting qubits. By employing novel circuit designs, such as fluxonium qubits, we can reduce their sensitivity to external noise. Additionally, advancements in circuit materials and interfaces help to further minimize the impact of external noise. Finally, I will present results of fluxonium qubits where T1>300μs from National TsingHua University.
